Music
At Catshill Middle School, our high-quality music curriculum engages and inspires pupils to explore a wide range of musical styles and traditions, helping them understand the important role music plays in our world and in their own lives. We aim to nurture every child’s creativity, confidence, communication, and sense of personal pride, helping them grow as musicians and as individuals.
Music is a powerful form of expression and connection, and through their studies pupils develop far more than musicianship. They build essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, decision-making, attentive listening, resilience, and confidence in performance. These skills support pupils not only in their musical journey but across all areas of learning and life beyond the classroom.
Our curriculum encourages pupils to learn from the achievements of great musicians and to appreciate the ways in which music shapes culture and community. Through practical lessons, performances, and extracurricular opportunities, pupils apply their musical knowledge and skills with growing independence, creativity, and enthusiasm.

In line with one of our federation's core values – aspiration – we aim to develop possibilities for all! We want children to have no limits to what their ambitions are, aspiring to be:
