School Uniform
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you of some slight adjustments to our school uniform expectations, which will take effect from the start of the new term in September.
These changes have been made to maintain consistency and ensure that pupils are able to safely access all aspects of the curriculum. The key updates are as follows:
Hair: In practical subjects such as Science, PE and Design Technology hair that is long enough to be tied back must be.
False Eyelashes and Nail Extensions: False eyelashes are not permitted as they can pose safety risks and are not in keeping with our school’s expectations. Nail extensions must be natural in shape and colour. In addition to this,
staff will test the length of nails by looking at the palm side of a pupil’s hand, to see if they are visible at the end of their fingertips. This is needed for Health and Safety reasons in practical subjects, particularly cooking and PE.
We would also like to take this opportunity to give some polite reminders.
Make-up: Students are permitted to wear subtle, natural-looking make-up only. Heavy make-up, including bold eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lipstick, is not allowed.
Footwear: Please ensure, before purchasing footwear that school shoes meet the expectations in our policy.
We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that your child adheres to these updated guidelines. A full, detailed uniform policy is available on our school website and attached to this email.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Miss B DoidgeDeputy Headteacher
