Mental Health & Wellbeing
Supporting the Wellbeing of Every Child and Family
At Catshill Middle School, we know that children learn best when they feel safe, happy, and supported. We take both physical and mental wellbeing seriously — for our pupils, parents, and staff alike.

Our aim is to be a mentally healthy school, where everyone has the tools and confidence to look after their own wellbeing and to flourish both emotionally and academically.
Support in our school
We have a strong wellbeing network in school, including:
Safeguarding Lead, Senior Mental Health Lead and Mental Health First Aider: Miss Doidge
Trauma Informed, DSL and Mental Health First Aider: Miss Andrews
Nurture and Pastoral: Mr Hawkins, Mrs Hamer & Mrs Dix
Behaviour and Pastoral Assistant Headteacher: Mr Hirst
SENDCO Assistant Headteacher: Mrs Ludlow
Mental Health and Wellbeing Governor: Kirsty Byrom
Our Mental Health team are here as a first point of contact for anyone experiencing emotional distress or mental health difficulties. They aren’t therapists, but they can offer a listening ear, reassurance, and guidance towards further support if needed.
